José Luis Arbulú is a graduate of the National School of Fine Arts of Peru. He continued his postgraduate studies at the Saint Martin's School of Art in London, UK (1985) and later at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, the People's Republic of China (1987-1989). Among many awards, he has received the grand prix in Ink and Wash Painting International Exhibition in Beijing (1988) and Second Prize at the International China Painting and Calligraphy, Copa Peony, Shandong (1988). His work has been part of many exhibits in Peru, USA, China, and other cities around the world, in both solo and group exhibitions.
