Mireya Robles nació en Guantánamo, Cuba. Ha publicado varias novelas y dos libros de cuentos, que han sido traducidos al inglés por Susan Griffin además de la novela titulada Hagiografía de Narcisa la bella traducida por Anna Diegel; dos poemarios y artículos, narraciones cortas y poemas en revistas literarias en unos veinte países. Su obra titulada Diario de Sudáfrica se publicará en breve. Ha recibido premios en Estados Unidos, México, Francia, Italia y España y ha sido entrevistada en radio y televisión en Miami, New York, Buenos Aires, Madrid y Durban, Sudáfrica, así como en el documental Conducta Impropia/Improper Conduct dirigido por el cinematógrafo Néstor Almendros, ganador del Oscar en 1978. Este documental recibió el Premio de Derechos Humanos en Grenoble, Francia. Mireya Robles ha enseñado en varios colleges en Estados Unidos y durante diez años fue Senior Lecturer en University of Natal, Durban, Sudáfrica. En la actualidad es Senior Research Associate de esa universidad.

Mireya Robles (born 1934) is an award-winning Cuban American writer and literary critic. Robles was born in Guantánamo, she was educated in Cuba where she attended the Institute of Guantánamo and the University of Havana. She emigrated to the United States in 1957 and continued her studies at the Russell Sage College and was awarded her doctorate from the State University of New York. She has held numerous teaching positions and presently divides her time between South Africa and the United States. She writes novels, prose, ans short stories as well as literary criticism. Some of her works have been translated. She was awarded the First Prize of the Iberoamerican Poets and Writers Guild in 1971 and the gold medal of the Academie Internationale de Lutèce in 1974. In 1989 she was a finalist for the Spanish literature award, the Nadal Prize. Works

Donald Trump is reviewing a round of contestants for the apprentice show. The most important Gods of humankind are competing today. There are the Roman Gods, who gave great conquests to their people. The Greek Gods who gave them great art, and other like the Egyptian Gods who gave them great lasting empires. Then came God's turn. Donald asked the same question he asked them all: So, what have you done for your people? God answered. "Well, it's been hard for them, after forty years in the desert, they have encountered centuries of persecution, holocausts and hate. A bit shocked, Trump continues. What about your son? Well, my only one and begotten son, didn't have it too well either. You see, he was very hated since birth, he became persecuted and got crucified. Not giving up, Donald tried asking again. But, did you not give your people a promised land? God answered, "Well, yes, I did, but... it turned out that the land was surrounded by enemies, with no water nor oil." So, you mean to say that, your people got persecuted, your son crucified, and the promised land a dry piece of worthless real estate? Yes, said God, to which Trump replied: Well, you're fired.
